Professor Jonathan Erez, from the Institute of the Earth sciences to the University of Jerusalem (Israel), is currently visiting the Scientific Centre of Monaco for one month.

Professor Erez is widely known for his work on the calcification of Foraminiferans, single-celled organisms that have led to the construction of geological formations including the cliffs of Etretat. Attracted to CSM by its excellent facilities and the expertise of its scientists, Professor Erez is in Monaco to collaborate with monegasque scientists on investigations into the physiology of corals.

An expert in Paleoclimatology, Professor Erez and the monegasque scientsists aim to improve our understanding of how markers in coral skeletons can help in the reconstruction of past climates in Earth's history and the prediction of future climate change. Professor Erez’s work will include experiments, drafting of publications and seminars during his time at CSM.
